A day-long festival of films, panels, exhibits, and live music celebrating the legacy and community of the Music Inn.



Body Block 1

On Sunday, August 11th, The Triplex Cinema will be hosting a one-day festival celebrating The Music Inn, with programming that includes:


1:00 PM - We Were There: A panel discussion with former Music Inn employees and management who played a part in its history. 


2:00 PM - The Modern Jazz Quartet: From Residency to Legacy: A feature film exploring the impact of the influential jazz combo and their recordings from the Music Inn.


3:30 PM - A lecture from music historian and author Jeremy Yudkin.


5:00 PM - Form Evokes Function and Life and Times of the Music Inn: A short film program looking at the life of David Rothstein and the legacy of the Music Inn. 


5:30 PM - In Conversation with David Rothstein: The artistic director of the Music Inn sits down for an interview with Seth Rogovoy.


6:30 PM - Music Inn: A feature-length documentary film featuring performances and interviews from the many incarnations of the legendary music venue.

   

8:00 PM - Now On Stage: A panel discussion with musicians who played the Music Inn following the screening of Music Inn.

Throughout the day, Vaguely Pagan will play songs from the Music Inn songbook on The Triplex patio, and a photographic exhibition of Music Inn memories will be on display in The Triplex lobby.


The cost for the event is a suggested donation of $75 for the whole day or $35 for part one of the program and $50 for part two.
