We’re celebrating the enduring legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. with a free screening of Ava DuVernay’s Selma on January 20th! A Best Picture nominee that chronicles the work of Dr. King and his fellow civil rights activists as they lead the historic 1965 voting rights marches, Selma remains a powerful reminder of the power of civil disobedience a decade after its release.
After the screening, join us for a conversation with local activist and NAACP Berkshires Board Member Shirley Edgerton to discuss her work in the civil rights movement and why the work of Dr King still matters 60 years later.
This free screening is sponsored in part by the Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and New Marlborough Cultural Councils, local agencies that are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.Selma showing at: January 20, 11:30 am
